Course Overview
This course is to provide delegates with a clear understanding of the Roles and Responsibilities of a recognised OGP (Oil & Gas Producers) Client Offshore Worksite Representative. Client Representatives typically have accumulated years of knowledge and experience in a specialist subject or industry sector and with this acquired knowledge, they need to know how to use this effectively in the role of the Rep.
Aims & Objectives
The Client Offshore Worksite Representative acts as the Clients eyes and ears during the offshore phase of a Project and is the clients prime method of monitoring what is going on at the site from both the point of view of safety and efficiency.
The course provides a comprehensive overview of offshore legislation and the common issues affecting offshore construction, diving and maritime operations but also extends further afield giving a better understanding of the global and regional variances that need to be considered.
Best Industry Practices and Guidelines are covered within sessions on IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) and the OGP Diving Recommended Practise. Subsea awareness from seabed to topside is covered to give delegates a greater understanding of risk working with subsea systems and covers identification of worksites and component items including isolations.
The course comprehensively covers communication and the prime interfaces involved, along with project reporting methods and techniques. Delegates will also get a good insight into people management skills during the leadership session which covers relationships with contractors and how to be pro-active adopting an open-door policy.
Accident & Emergency situations are covered giving the delegate a good understanding of incident investigation & reporting including and finally goes on to emergency response and what role the rep takes in major critical situations.

- Leadership & Management the team dynamics, organisation, effective communication, dealing with conflict, stress and alignment of roles & responsibilities
- Emergency Response and Accident/Incident Investigation & Reporting
Who should attend
Prior to attending, delegates would be expected to have accumulated a number of years experience (min. 2 preferably 5) in their relevant offshore discipline with some supervisory experience or have been involved in the lifecycle of a project.
Certification
On successful completion of the course and passing the end of course exam, the delegates are issued with an NHC certificate of training complete with photographic ID and individual certificate number.
Accreditation
This new course is currently being reviewed by industry with the aim to have it recognised by major trade associations, including IMCA, and accepted by HSE as an appropriate course and syllabus as part of a Competency based training scheme.
